1991 Oxford White Ford Taurus SHO

new box

This is a very nice 1991 Ford Taurus SHO, this car has been my baby for almost a year now. Car has just a little over 136,000 miles on it. It is extremely fast and is probably the funest car I have ever owned. 1991 SHO's have 220 hp and 200 Ft/lbs of torque, a 7,000 RPM Redline Yamaha engine, top speed of 143 mph and they are FAST cars. The gearing on this car is amazing  There are many pictures in this auction, I have included a description of each one that way you will have a broad scope of the condition of the car. This car has been well taken care of, I am only the second owner of this car, its original owner lives in Texas and this car has never seen snow or salt (I never drove it in the winter) This car is very reliable I have driven it to Kansas City and regularly visit my parents in Bloomington IL about 135 miles away. The car has many newer parts including; rebuilt clutch, two new half shafts full set of tie rods and alignment (car steers like new now) new water pump, new plugs and wires, battery,  injectors were cleaned right before I bought the car, almost all the sensors were replaced (except O2's), new SHO shifter knob. I have changed the oil every 2000-2500 miles, car starts right up, has no knocks and the engine does not ping. There is a coolant leak, it is not a head problem there is no water leaking into the engine and the exhaust does not smell like coolant. Car never overheats runs very cool even on 95 degree days in stop and go traffic. There are nice extras on this car, chrome slicers, fiber glass hood and the desirable rod-shifter. Body is in great condition paint is very glossy and clean, I have waxed it 4 times this summer already :) (see photos) Cruise Control works as does everything else on the car, including the lumbar seats, retractable antenna. The only thing are the seats in the car which are very easily replaced, I bought the car knowing this, I would rather have a rust free car and replace the seats than one that needed body work. I love this car very much I am only selling this due to a financial situation. I will miss this car dearly, not many SHO's are this clean and run as well. Transmission shifts perfectly, synchros are perfect, you can accelerate hard and the gears will engage perfectly every time. This is truly a drivers car and loves to be driven. Here is a list of the little problems on the car, 1st the actuators on the drivers side, the ones for the back window don't work very well, very easily replaced, car needs 02's CEL is on except when you are accelerating and it goes away, plus when you down shift it will smoke when you come to a stop all the way, DOES NOT burn oil though, it has a very minor oil leak, 1 qt every 800-1000 miles, I drove the last time 375 miles to my parents house and only used  1/5th a quart. The before mentioned coolant leak, I have been told it is the plastic overflow holder for the antifreeze, car needs hood supports (also very inexpensive), A/C needs to be recharged, blows cool air but not ice cold like the SHO's are known for, car could use front pads, the front console where the drink holders are is out right now due to a aftermarket deck being installed, I haven gotten around to putting it back in, again no biggie. There is one slight piece of body damage and I have included the up close photos, I want to show everything on this car, I am very confident that it is an exceptional vehicle. I have many parts for this car (see photos) I will deliver this car anywhere within 250 miles for a small fee, or you can come pick it up and drive it home :) Now onto the photos, I love this car soo very much!!

Photo is sideways inner of the door on the car itself not the door, this is the only body damage on the car except a small dent on the front right fender that wouldn't show up.

Front seats, yes they are bad shape, but that is what happens in Texas, the heat dried out the leather. Seats are easy to replace, plus they are comfy and all the functions of the power seat portion work.
